Developed to take advantage of the exceptional resolution of the XF lens, a revolutionary new sensor inspired by film.
Moiré is tackled at its root cause by the innovative color filter array of the new sensor. By enhancing the aperiodicity (randomness) in the array arrangement, the color filter minimizes the generation of moire and false colors, eliminating the necessity for an optical low-pass filter in the lens and enabling the sensor to capture the full “unfiltered” resolution and descriptive quality of the XF lens.
Lens with optical low-pass filters
Traditonal optical low-pass filters inhibit moiré and false colors but consequently lead to a loss in resolution.
The repeating arrangement of the 2x2 pixel sets tends to generate moire and false colors when shooting stripes and other regular patterns.
X-Pro1 No optical low-pass filter
the new filter changes the rules of digital photography. Without using an optical low-pass filter, moiré and false colors are eliminated, but high resolution is maintained.
The high aperiodicity (randomness) of the arrangement of pixels in 6x6 sets reduces the occurrence of moire. Also the presence of an R, B and B pixel in every vertical and horizontal pixel series minimizes the generation of false colors and delivers higher color reproduction fidelity.
No limits to image quality. 3 excellent single-focal length lenses and Fujifilm original “X Mount” desgined for maximum perfomance of the lens will promise excellent image quality.
FUJIFILM is pleased to announce the launch of two new models to the FUJINON XF Lens range bringing the total number of lenses available to five, offering much broader photographic appeal. Another unique five lenses will be added in the line-up in early 2013, making the total to 10 lenses.
To exploit every photon of the exceptional descriptive performance of these new lenses, an original lens mount has been specially designed for X-Pro1. The reinforced mount ring is remarkably thin - approximately 2.5mm - further improving X-Pro1's slim profile when the lens is mounted. Using a 10 pin system, the lens instantly sends information to the camera body through the lens mount, making the lenses work seamlessly with the body and letting the photographer concentrate on what is really important - beautiful photographic expression.

Next-generation Hybrid Viewfinder optimizes magnification according to the mounted lens.
Featuring the freedom to switch between an optical and electronic viewfinder, the Hybrid Viewfinder has evolved to meet the challenge of interchangeable lenses. When an XF series lens is mounted, lens data are communicated to X-Pro1, and viewfinder magnification (2 types) and frame size (multiple steps) are automatically switched. Peering through the viewfinder with all your attention focused on the subject. This simple style of shooting is the both the first step back to the essential pleasure of photography. Every lens change reveals a new world of beauty to capture.
Perfectly frame each shot with the sharply defined bright frame projected by a built-in, high-performance LCD panel. You also have the freedom to customize what information is displayed in the viewfinder for easy confirmation of the settings you need.
Enjoy 100% coverage on a sharp image display produced by a 0.47-inch high definition LCD boasting approximately 1,440,000 dots of resolution. Delivering a crisp, clear display of the scene for both “Live View” framing and a quick post-shot review of your results, the EVF is ideal when composing macro shots and other scenes that demand high-precision framing.
When you change XF-series lenses, both the viewfinder magnification and bright frame size automatically switch to support the lens focal length. Viewfinder magnification switches to 0.37x when the 18mm lens is mounted, and to 0.60x for the 35mm or 60mm lens, letting you frame your shot with the bright, crystal clarity of an optical image. You can also manually set a focal distance and switch between viewfinder magnifications by holding down the viewfinder switch lever for over 2 seconds.

In film cameras, multiplex exposure is the unique photographic technique of superimposing one image on another by double exposing a single frame of film. Through advanced digital processing, X-Pro1 can simulate this technique, expanding your creative expression. Just select Multiplex Exposure mode and take your first shot using either OVF or EVF. While viewing it on the LCD screen, you can frame and shoot the second exposure. This ability to precisely position and focus the second shot lets you not only “see” how the finished Multiplex Exposure image will look, but also explore other creative photographic possibilities.
Experience a wide world of photographic expression with a choice of 4 different auto bracketing functions (AE, ISO Sensitivity, Dynamic Range and Film Simulation).

Find great features in X-Pro1.
Boasting a special anti-reflective coating (surface reflectivity of under 0.2%*), the superior LCD features high water repellency, a stain-resistant acrylic film and superb anti-glare performance for comfortable composition and confirmation of shots even under bright sunlight.
Skip directly to frequently used shooting menus with the Q (Quick Menu) button. ISO sensitivity setting, White Balance, Film Simulation and other frequently used shooting settings are displayed in a list. Just use the 4-way controller to select the item and the command dial to change settings for speedy operation while shooting.
In the Shooting and Playback menu, functions are organized into tabbed single-page screens for fast selection and setting. Just select a tab and find the item in the displayed list without scrolling.
The built-in RAW data converter lets you view results in the field without first transferring the data to a PC. Within the screen, the auto focus area is divided into a 49-point matrix (25 points in the case of OVF). AF accurately and swiftly recognizes the primary subject and brings it into crystal clear focus, and also lets you freely select the position of the AF frame. When using the EVF and LCD, you can also change the AF frame size and pinpoint the focusing.
Even in Live View, shutter time lag is only 0.05 sec so you can capture that exact instant and enjoy a comfortable shooting experience.
XF lens focusing is driven by a fast “DC coreless motor”. Accelerated by the combination of the high-speed signal readout of the X-Trans CMOS sensor and the newly developed EXR Processor, the improved contrast detection AF in X-Pro1 makes a huge leap in speed and precision, bringing your subject in to sharp focus in as little as 0.1 sec*.
In the viewfinder, the distance index bar is displayed together with the depth of field scale and aperture value, providing helpful guides for focusing. You can also adjust focus by rotating the focus ring while checking the image in Live View and using the one-touch Focus Point Zoom to confirm a sharp focus.
In low-light settings where even the subject is hard to see through the viewfinder, the AF Assist Lamp illuminates the subject and assists Auto Focus.
Compensate for the color of different light sources with a choice of 9 white balance presets in addition to Auto White Balance. You can also make custom white balance settings using a gray card or other surface, or select the optimum color temperature (Kelvin value).
Fine tune white balance by adjusting R (red) ⇔ Cy (cyan) and B (blue) ⇔ Ye (yellow) in ±9 steps while viewing the through-the-lens image. You can make adjustments and confirm their affect on the actual image while shooting. It is ideal for precise correction of white balance or exploration of the creative effects that can be achieved with filters.
