Nenadmašen odnos cene i karakteristika zadržan je i kod nove verzije zahvaljujući poboljšanoj optičkoj konstrukciji koja i dalje uključuju sočiva od stakla sa posebno niskim faktorom disperzije.Stabilizator povećava procenat oštrih fotografija, pri čemu je iz ruke moguće fotografisati ekspozicijama dužim od 1/60 sekunde na 300 mm. Iako se ne radi o specijalizovanom makro objektivu, na žižnoj daljini od 300 mm moguće je postići respektabilno povećanje od 1:3.9 na udaljenosti od 150 cm.
